Project description

 "Friends across the sea" is about making friends in a country across the sea. Our students will make friends amongst the students from the partner school. They will exchange information about their school, town/city, county, country, about the local culture and food, and about some spring traditions. They will improve their multilingual, digital and cultural awareness and expression competences.

Aims

Our students will improve their English and IT communication skills. They will make friends with the students from the partner school and will exchange information about their school, town/city, county, country; about local traditions and food, etc.

The teachers will exchange examples of best practice in teaching English in Cultural Context.


The age range of the target group: 11-14 years


Work process


The teachers will keep in touch on a WhatsApp group, to make communication faster. They can use WhatsApp or Zoom for video meetings with the partners.

Each team will do online research about their countries and make presentations about their schools, town, country, local foods and local spring traditions on Prezi or Padlet and exchange them with the partner

CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES:

FEBRUARY:

-Presentations of the schools, towns and countries

- Talk about online safety

MARCH:

- Presentation of spring holidays/ festivals

- Students presentations of themselves

APRIL:

- Make and send Easter cards

- Evaluate the students' opinions through a student satisfaction questionnaire


Expected results


We will make a TwinSpace where we will publish the results of our research and the articles and photos from the activities.

The Romanian team will make a blog to be used by both teams as a project diary and also for the dissemination and evaluation of the project
